Pedaling to help police in Palm Beach County

WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. - Hundreds of people are expected to take their bicycles for a ride to raise money Sunday morning. 

The Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office is hosting "Pedal for Police Athletic League Bike Tour" starting at the Dreyfoos School of the Arts in West Palm Beach. 

Registration starts at 6:30 in the parking lot of the school and the ride starts an hour later at 7:30.

It costs $50 to register for the ride. 

Riders will be able to go distances of 100, 62, and 32 miles. The furthest riders will go is to Jensen Beach and then they will turn around and come back to West Palm Beach. 

There will be stocked rest stops along the marked route.

There will be a post ride meal at the school starting at 10:30am that will run until 2pm. 

The Police Athletic League is a charity run by the Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office. 

The PAL uses sports to build a relationship between local police and area youth.
