WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. - The Palm Beach County Medical Examiner's Office said Monday that the cause of death for Pamela Brooks and her ten-year-old daughter Alex is still "pending."
According to West Palm Beach police, the results from the medical examiner's office could take days.
Police say there are no suspects and no one dangerous or a threat to the community is on the run and that no one is in custody.
The child's father Brad Brooks called police late Thursday night when he couldn't get into the home to pick up Alex from his ex-wife's house.
According to his attorney on Monday Brad Brooks never saw the tragedy coming. The attorney said that Pamela Brooks was going to her scheduled doctor appointments up until the week of the tragedy.
The attorney says the last time Brad Brooks spoke to his daughter was on Tuesday, her tenth birthday.
Friends left flowers on the front steps of the West Palm Beach home Monday.
"I try to imagine what this father is going through, but I can't. It has to be living hell," Chip Lutz, Alex's martial arts teacher and family friend said.
Lutz says he has known the Brooks for twenty years.
"His little girl was the sparkle of his eye," Lutz said.
Alex Brooks went to Kings Academy. It released a statement Monday saying it will hold a private service for her on Wednesday.
