'Operation Wild West' nets 64 arrests in western communities of Palm Beach County

WEST PALM BEACH —  Sheriff's and federal officials announced the arrest of 64 people as the result of a sweeping gang and drug investigation in western Palm Beach County.

At a news conference Thursday afternoon, officials from the Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office and U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration said 17 of the 64 state and federal arrests as a result of Operation Wild West were gang members or their associates.

The gangs officials said were "disrupted" as a result of the 18-month investigation were the Little Rock Dogs, Jack Boyz and Dogs Under Fire.

Among the things seized by agents during the investigation were: about 10 kilograms of powder cocaine; 215 marijuana plants and more than 100 pounds of processed marijuana; 12 firearms and a bullet-proof vest; about $300,000 in cash and $30,000 worth of jewelry.

Officials said they expect to make more arrests and confiscate more property.
