Police investigating an officer-involved shooting at Radio Shack in West Palm Beach

WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. - West Palm Police have launched an investigation into an officer-involved shooting that took place Wednesday afternoon.

 A unidentified officer fired at least one shot was inside the Radio Shack store at Southern Boulevard and Parker Avenue.

Police were called to the scene by the store clerk after he said he was involved in a dispute with a male customer.

When the police officer arrived, the situation somehow escalated.

The officer felt that his life was in danger and fired his weapon toward the suspect, but missed. The suspect did comply with the officer at that point and was taken into custody.

 The names of the suspect and the officer have yet to be released.

West Palm Beach Police have placed the officer on paid administrative leave, as they would with any officer-involved shooting.

Investigators remained on scene at the Radio Shack for several hours, trying to gather information about the altercation that led to the officer pulling his trigger.
