WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. - Nine people, including four children, are being taken to local hospitals after being injured in a head-on collision Monday evening in West Palm Beach, said Allan Ortman, spokesman for West Palm Beach Fire Rescue.
One adult male was seriously injured in the crash and was rushed to St. Mary's Medical Center. The other eight, including the four children, did not sustain life-threatening injuries, Ortman said.
The accident occurred at 7:22 p.m. near Okeechobee Boulevard and South Dixie Highway. The crash closed the northbound lanes of South Dixie Highway for several hours. The road reopened around 10:30 p.m., a city police dispatcher said.
