Michelle Sanchez charged with underpaying sales tax for a local restaurant

WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. - Michelle Sanchez who served as the president of the now defunct Cheeburger, Cheeburger restaurant in CityPlace has been charged with underpaying sales tax by the Florida Department of Revenue.

State investigators say that sale taxes for the restaurant were not paid for November 2012 or December 2012.

Sanchez  told state investigators that, "she had to pay other vendors and did not know the taxes were of such importance."

The Department of Revenue say that Cheeburger, Cheeburger that was located at 460 S Rosemary Avenue failed to pay $55,611.87 to the state during 2012.

The restaurant, according to investigators, had over $1 million in its bank account at the time and had sufficient funds to pay the sales tax.
