A West Palm Beach retirement community remembering those who served and lost their lives for our country.

As the veterans marched into the room, they beamed with pride

“When you're marching out there, it's a beautiful thing to do especially for all the veterans,” said SN Henry Zanella, 83.

He served in the Navy during World War II. Zanella traveled the world.

“I enjoyed every minute of it, seeing different people, how they live and how they take care of everybody else,” said Zanella

This was 92-year-old Anthony Varano's 10th year marching at the Golden Lakes Village community.

“I'm really celebrating the fallen soldiers of our country, who gave us this freedom to be able to do this today,” said Pfc. Anthony Varano, who served in the Army.

The social director, Gina Moss, says the 21 veterans who marched today are just some of the veterans who could make it

“Not many people are able to come out,” said Moss, “A lot of them are home bound.”

Those at today's ceremony say this small parade means so much to the residents and families.

“It's a pleasure to be with people that love our country,” said Zanella.

And those who made the ultimate sacrifice.

This is a long time Golden Lakes Village tradition.
