WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. - A Palm Beach County teacher is facing a possible five-day suspension without pay for using her cellphone during class time.
The county school board will consider a recommendation to take action against teacher Lori Mazzei.
School board documents said that Mazzei was observed talking on her cellphone during class time on Dec. 3, 2012.
Investigators said that she had received three memorandums, as well as a written notice of a verbal reprimand and a written reprimand for using her cellphone during work.
If the school board approves the recommendation, Mazzei will be suspended for five days without pay starting on Jan. 24.
The school where Mazzei teaches was not identified.
