WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. -- Longtime morning show for WLDI, Wild 95.5's "The Kevin, Virginia & Jason show" is leaving the pop station and the West Palm Beach radio market after more than a decade.
The "KVJ" show, which consists of Kevin Rolston, Virginia Sinicki and Jason Pennington, announced the departure this morning during their show.
Their last broadcast on Wild 95.5 will be Friday morning. The trio will appear on NewsChannel 5 at 5:30 today, and we are asking viewers to submit questions for them.
Their new employer will be Cox Radio's 97.3 The Coast in Miami.
"We are so excited to bring our brand of fun and topical radio just south down I-95 to the incredible Miami market and the 97-3 The Coast audience", Rolston said in a statement. "We have been entertaining listeners in South Florida for 15 years, so this is the natural evolution for The Kevin, Virginia & Jason Show."
The first day their show can be heard on their new station will be Monday, August 5.
Watch: The KVJ Show says goodbye
The show posted the following statement on it's Facebook page earlier today:
We are leaving Wild 95.5, but we are not going anywhere. We will still be heard on a radio station that services the Palm Beaches. We are merely adding Miami. We have a commitment to South Florida. We live here. The goal of our show has always been to reach as many people in South Florida as possible. This opportunity gets us closer to that goal.
We are always working on easier and better ways for people to access our show. Whether it be through digital apps, on-line streaming, podcasting or KVJ-TV. All of those methods of delivering the KVJ Show will be improved with this move.
The hardest part of this decision is leaving behind our family at Wild 95.5 and Clear Channel. This is, and will continue to be, an amazing radio station and company. We have years of memories with them. We have had marriages, divorces, the birth of children and the passing of close family members and characters on this show at Wild 95.5.
We will continue to experience life and live in South Florida . . . we just won't be doing it anymore at Wild 95.5.
We hope to see all of you at 97.3 The Coast on Monday, August 5th!
