WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. -- While West Palm Beach Police continue their search for the gunmen in a drive-by shooting Thursday, a child is recovering from a gunshot wound and two emergency surgeries.
Officers say at least two men were driving through the area of Windsor Avenue around 11 a.m. Thursday when they fired shots at two people walking in the park.
Bullets entered a family's home, striking 4-year-old Krystal Black in her jaw -- the bullet exiting her through her mouth.
Her grandfather says she underwent emergency surgery Thursday night.
The family says they heard gunfire and tried to get down, but the four-year-old had already been shot.
West Palm Beach police are asking for anyone with information about this shooting to call the department.
