Kevin Marcelin charged with leading officers on a high speed chase through West Palm Beach

WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. - Kevin Marcelin is currently being held in the Palm Beach County Jail after West Palm Beach police say he led them on a high speed chase Wednesday afternoon.

Officers say that they spotted a silver Sorrento heading north on Tamarind Avenue from 7th Street.

Police say that Marcelin, who was a passenger in the car, matched the description of a suspect that had been involved in a strong-armed robbery that had just taken place.

The car, according to police, did not stop and continued to head north through West Palm Beach and into Riviera Beach where Marcelin and the driver fled, according to officers.

West Palm Beach police say Marcelin has also been identified as a possible suspect in a shooting in Palm Beach County.

Marcelin has been charged with grand theft auto and fleeing an officer. The driver, a juvenile, was also taken into custody.
