WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. - A 58-year-old man has been arrested by the West Palm Beach police and charged with sexually assaulting a 77- year-old woman.
West Palm Beach police say that on Nov. 30, 2013 the victim told them that she awoke to find the suspect, later identified as James Evans, standing in her bedroom.
The victim told investigators that Evans forcibly molested her in her home.
Evans finally stopped, according to police, when the victim convinced him that she needed water.
The victim told police that Evans stole a business card from her before leaving her property.
Detectives were able to recover a white latex glove and a box of Marlboro cigarettes from the residence.
Police said that Evans phoned the victim after the incident and they were able to track the phone number.
DNA evidence found at Evans' home matched that found at the crime scene, according to police.
Evans has been arrested and booked into the Palm Beach County Jail on sexual battery, burglary with assault and false imprisonment charges.
