Ill man evacuated from cruise ship by the Coast Guard; taken to West Palm hospital

WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. - A 59-year old man was medically evacuated from a cruise ship off the coast of Palm Beach and taken to a West Palm Beach hospital Sunday morning, according to the Coast Guard.

The Coast Guard was contacted around 10 a.m. by the medical crew of the Carnival Cruise Line ship Fascination regarding a passenger experiencing health complications. A 45-foot response boat from their Lake Worth Inlet station, off the coast of West Palm Beach, was dispatched to pick up the man and take him to a West Palm Beach hospital.

The man was transferred to emergency medical crews in West Palm Beach and rushed to St. Mary’s Medical Center where his condition was listed as stable.
