'Hotel Clematis' waiting for final approval

WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. - A big economic boost could be coming to downtown West Palm Beach.

Wednesday, the team behind "Hotel Clematis" met with members of the city's Downtown Action Committee.

The D.A.C. must give the project its final approval before the hotel builders can start applying for permits from the city.

One issue the D.A.C. had with the hotel's plans involved the entrance to the lobby. The D.A.C. requested that it be larger before it gets approved.

The boutique hotel would be ten stories tall and have ninety-six rooms.

It will cost twenty million dollars to construct the hotel. The project is part of the city's incentive plan to build hotels downtown.

Business owners say they're excited about the potential project, and hope it'll fuel the local economy.
