WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. - I remember growing up for seven years in Central Florida at the height of the space race in the 1960's. We would run outside for every launch and listen (at least I did) with rapt attention to every detail of every mission as Americans raced for the moon.
Space doesn't excite many people anymore. We take the achievements for granted and seldom think about the fact that humans are flying outside the confines of earth every single day aboard the International Space Station.
The article below is a reminder of the challenges and hazards they deal with. Every now and again, look up and marvel. It may be "old news" but it is still awe inspiring.
