Robert Lee: Man succumbs to stabbing wounds inflicted by stepfather in suburban West Palm

SUBURBAN WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. - A 43-year-old suburban West Palm Beach man died Monday evening at the hospital where he had undergone surgery after being stabbed by his stepfather earlier in the day, said Teri Barbera, spokeswoman for Palm Beach County Fire Rescue.

Robert Lee died at Delray Medical Center around 10:34 p.m. He had been stabbed multiple times by his stepfather, 55-year-old Hiep Le, after they argued over how Lee's child was being disciplined, Barbera said.

Deputies were called around 3:45 p.m. to the 5000 block of Purdy Lane where Le and his stepson had squabbled . During the argument, which had moved from inside the home to the sidewalk, Lee was stabbed.

The injured man ran across the street for help and a neighbor called 911. Lee was flown to Delray Medical Center, where he underwent surgery. He later succumbed to his injuries, Barbera said..

Le went back home and began to quarrel with his wife. During the argument she suffered cuts to her hands and was taken to JFK Medical Center for treatment, she said.

SWAT team members tried to persuade the suspect to come out of the house. When they finally entered the home, they found the suspect dead of a self-inflicted stab wound.

During the incident, Purdy Lane at Haverhill Road was closed.
