Anita Mitchell's first thoughts were of her ex-husband Edgar Mitchell, the sixth man to walk on the moon.
"Nothing but exciting," she said.
She always remembers Captain Mitchell describing the sights from space now two normal citizens may get to experience.
"Imagine just normal human beings going up there and looking up at Earth."
Elon Musk announced Monday SpaceX plans to send two people around the moon.
Anita now wonders if those two will go through the same training as her ex-husband.
"They swam 10 miles a day, they jogged. Their physical training was unparalleled. No regular human being could withstand it," says Mitchell.
Anita know its heroes like Edgar Mitchell who paved the way to make this happen.
"I think all the work that Apollo and Gemini and Shuttle all came before it, laid the groundwork so why not," she added.
