Safari Nights-The Palm Beach Zoo (1301 Summit Boulevard, West Palm Beach) will be alive this Friday night! This Friday's theme will be the "Everglades." Families can enjoy the ever-popular disc jockeying and face painting talents of Glass Productions' Purple People Painters and Noisy Neighbors DJs in the Fountain Plaza. The weekly event will also include up-close roving animal encounters and special performances of the Wings Over Water bird show and Wild Things stage show, children's games and take-home crafts in the Florida Pioneer House, dinner specials in the Tropics Cafe, complimentary rides on the Wildlife Carousel, offerings of the Paws for a Cause Animal Art Expo, photo opportunities with the Zoo's costume mascots - Kiwi the Koala, Timmy the Tiger, and Speedy the Sea Turtle. It's all about the Dogs- A local library goes to the dogs this weekend! The Fort Pierce Branch Library (101 Melody Lane, Fort Pierce) will be showing the family movie "Because of Winn-Dixie." Following the movie, Dot Blair, dog handler extraordinaire, and her canine companion, Music, will demonstrate what it takes to be a good pet provider. Based on the children's book by author Kate DiCamillo, "Because of Winn-Dixie" is the story of 10-year-old Opal Buloni, who just moved to a small Florida town with her father. She's feeling lonely in her new location until she adopts a stray dog she names Winn-Dixie. Free; Saturday 2 p.m.
Movie Night- It's a mix between action and humor! Come out and enjoy an evening on the lawn in Wellington (Wellington Amphitheatre, 12100 Forest Hill Boulevard, Wellington). This week's featured movie will be "The Adventures of Tintin," which features Tintin (Jamie Bell) as an ambitious young reporter, who after buying a model of a ship called ‘The Unicorn,' discovers that he is now in danger from others who want it, as it holds a clue to a secret treasure.
