PALM BEACH COUNTY, Fla. - The person shot overnight at an adult nightclub in Palm Beach County has been identified.
The Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office says deputies found 22-year-old Kinley Lauriston on the ground in the parking lot of Sugar Daddy’s Cabaret located at 704 South Military Trail.
They say he was suffering with multiple gunshot wounds. Trauma Hawk transported him to Delray Medical Center and the sheriff's office says he's expected to survive.
When deputies arrived on the shooting scene they say a witness said the suspect was speeding away in a gray Pontiac.
The driver refused to stop and headed north on Military Trail. He crashed and jumped into a canal trying to escape.
Deputies say he broke a screen at a residence in an attempt to avoid being caught.
A K-9 eventually found him. He was identified as 19-year-old Fanex Similorme.
The sheriff's office says he later confessed to shooting Lauriston.
Similorme is charged with attempted first degree murder.
