WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. - Dynasdy Williams could soon be getting out of jail, one day after she was arrested for DUI.
Deputies say Williams is accused of hitting and seriously injuring nine-year-old Melanie Ponce De Leon of North Royal Palm Beach.
A judge Thursday morning granted Williams a $10,000 bond.
Prosecutors described in court the victim's serious brain injuries.
Williams' mother says her daughter has no criminal history and that she started drinking and using prescription drugs within the last year after her brother died.
"She has never been involved with drugs and alcohol up until this incident with her brother. We will do the best we can... we will get her the professional help she needs and continue praying for Melanie," Delissa Williams said.
According to court paperwork, Williams' blood alcohol level was a .118 and she had Xanax and marijuana in her system when she hit Melanie.
