WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. - Two doctors have been arrested by the Florida Department of Law Enforcement.
Dr. John Christensen is facing two charges of first degree murder. The FDLE says that two of Dr. Chjristensen's patients died from drug overdoses from medicine that the state says was not medically necessary.
Dr. Christensen also has been charged with trafficking oxycodone and the unlawful delivery of methadone.
FDLE investigators also charged Dr. Stuart Fox with drug trafficking oxycodone and the unlawful delivery of methadone.
Both doctors, Christensen and Fox, have been under investigation by the FDLE as well as Palm Beach County and federal officials since 2011.
The doctors operated offices in West Palm Beach, Port St Lucie and Daytona Beach, according to their arrest report.
Both doctors also are accused of fraudulently billing health insurance companies according to investigators.
Christensen and Fox were arrested at 8 p.m. July 11th and have been booked into the Palm Beach County Jail.
