Dive teams from South Florida will take part in an underwater SunFest cleanup

WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. - Expect to see police activity along the West Palm Beach waterfront Tuesday.

The dive team from the West Palm Beach Police Department along with units from cities including Boynton Beach and Clewiston will be participating in a combination training and clean-up exercise.

Police say that they will be removing unwanted items from the Intracoastal Waterway along Flagler Drive starting at noon.

Officers say that they expect to find debris from SunFest while they are in the Intracoastal.

The dive team says that they will be able to work on their skills in low visibility conditions.

The goal of the exercise, according to police, is to make the downtown waterfront area a safer environment for people and marine inhabitants.
