DeWayne Jackson, 43, is being held at the Palm Beach County Jail in lieu of $7,000 bail. He is facing charges of domestic aggravated battery.
Jackson was arrested after Palm Beach County Sheriff's deputies were dispatched to his home in the 4000 block of Edward Road to reports of a domestic disturbance at 10:24 p.m. Friday. When they arrived, they spoke with Jackson, who had a "strong odor of alcoholic beverage emanating from his person," according to the arrest report.
He told the responding deputies that he no longer needed police assistance because his girlfriend was drunk and she had left his home.
But dispatchers told deputies that Jackson's girlfriend was at a nearby fast food restaurant, and she was requesting deputies meet her there. When they arrived, deputies noted that she had an "obvious injury to her left eye."
The 50-year-old woman, whose name was withheld in the report, told deputies that an argument arose when Jackson wanted sex and she told him to wait until the TV show Cold Case was over. She added that Jackson got upset, grabbed a pen and "struck her in her left eye," the report said.
She had "blood seeping" from the cut, which was just under her left eye, according to the report. The woman added that she'd dated Jackson for three years and have lived together for two months.
