Cleanup continues at hoarded house in Palm Springs

PALM SPRINGS, Fla. - Friends of a Palm Springs man say they need help clearing clutter out of his home while he is in the hospital.

The homeowner, Les Carte, fell earlier this month.

Rescue crews had to cut a hole in Carte's house to get him out. They say there was so much clutter they could not fit a stretcher inside.

Every day Carte's friend, Cathy Pahulick, has been cleaning out the clutter so Carte can return home.

She say she couldn't believe how much needed to be done.

"I've never seen anything like it in my life, ever, nothing," Pahulick says, "I never even imagined what it would be like when I turned the key to look inside."

Pahulick says volunteers have shown up at the home to help but she says more help is needed.
