WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. - A 21-year-old man arrested in connection with the shooting death Monday evening of 27-year-old Taylor Caldwell in West Palm Beach, has been denied bond.
Carvel Beadle was arrested late Tuesday afternoon by members of the U.S. Marshals Task Force.
Caldwell was shot multiple times around 9:26 p.m. after getting off a Palm Tran bus in the 3400 block of Broadway Avenue.
Evidence recovered from the bus’s support pole and a .380 magazine left at the scene by the suspect matched Beadle, according to police.
One neighbor said she could hear the gunshots outside of her window. “This kid… was coming off the bus, he had half a block to walk, he's my neighbor's son and he's gone."
Beadle confessed to the killing during questioning, police said.
He has been charged with one count of first degree murder with a firearm and one count of carrying a concealed firearm.
During his first appearance in court Thursday a judge refused to set bail for Beadle.
