A dispatcher is honored for her role in saving a women’s life.

On Thursday, Bob Stephens met with Melissa Behn, a Palm Beach County Fire Rescue dispatcher, to thank her for her guidance during a 911 call he made in January.

Stephens says his wife had a stent put in and somehow it chipped her intestines, she then started to bleed.

Behn walked Stephens through life-saving procedures until Fire Rescue arrived.

Several months later, Stephens felt the need to thank Behn in person. The reunion was filled of emotion and tears.

Palm Beach County Fire Rescue also awarded Behn with Dispatcher of the Year.
