Robbery suspect, who is 7 months pregnant, turns herself in

She is ready to fight the charges

PALM BEACH COUNTY, Fla. - Bridget McAllister says she is ready to face robbery charges after four years. The woman, who is seven months pregnant, turned herself in to the Palm Beach County Jail.

McAllister denies the accusations against her and worries she could be forced to have her baby behind bars.

McAllister made headlines in 2010 when detectives say the then dancer at West Palm Beach strip club Flash Dance got a ride home from a customer.

According to police reports, McAllister led the victim to an alley where her then fiance was waiting to rob him at gunpoint.

McAllister denies those allegations and says she had no idea the robbery was going to occur.

She says she has been hiding out of state because she felt threatened in Palm Beach County.

"I am deciding to do this now. I was afraid of some people that are in the area. This is the best time for me to come down. I am seven months pregnant and I want to fight the charges against me," McAllister said.

McAllister's attorney says he will ask a judge Tuesday to give her a bond.

"She was not involved in the original crime and it is best to take care of this now. We will fight this," attorney Marc Reiner said.

A spokeswoman with the Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office says they have a medical unit and can handle pregnant inmates.
