WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. - The driver killed in a crash on Okeechobee Boulevard in West Palm Beach Tuesday has been identified.
Police say he was 25-year-old Arturo J. Ramirez.
He was driving a Hyundai Sonata westbound on Okeechobee Boulevard at a high rate of speed when he hit a curb line, and passed over the median. Police say the car struck a cement barrier wall, turned clockwise and ejected Ramirez onto eastbound Okeechobee Boulevard.
The driver of a Ford pickup tried to avoid the Sonata and a right front tire ran over Ramirez, police say.
He was pronounced dead at a nearby hospital.
The truck driver was shaken but not injured.
