WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. - A Jupiter woman who the Palm Beach County School District has confirmed works as a guidance counselor has been arrested on DUI charges.
The Florida Highway Patrol says that on Friday morning, May 9, two troopers on routine patrol spotted a vehicle driving erratically on Florida's Turnpike in the southbound lanes in West Palm Beach.
Troopers say that the driver was unable to maintain a single lane.
The vehicle, according to FHP, came within inches of striking another another vehicle and swerved off the road several times.
The driver, Angela Mazzocco, told investigators that she had taken Xanax and Lexapro at 7 a.m.
The blood alcohol test for Mazzocco was as high as .20, according to FHP.
The legal limit for blood alcohol in Florida is .08.
She told officers she was on her way to work.
Mazzocco was arrested and charged with DUI alcohol or drugs and is scheduled to appear before a judge at the Palm Beach County North Courthouse on June 9th.
