WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. -- A worker bitten by a cobra at a South Florida wildlife sanctuary was back in the hospital for a time due to an infection.
Aneth McCarthy was bitten two weeks ago at McCarthy's Wildlife Sanctuary in Loxahatchee.
McCarthy was cleaning a cage when she was bitten on her hand by a 3-foot-long spectacled cobra. Her husband is the sanctuary's director and says he's been bitten by snakes nearly a dozen times.
WPTV NewsChannel 5 learned Aneth went home from the hospital around 10 p-m Tuesday. She will be on an IV antibiotic which will be given by a nurse once a day for the next two weeks at home.
