WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. - Bars along Clematis Street in West Palm Beach are gearing up for Super bowl Sunday.
That means they're filling their kegs, a stocking the liquor shelves.
"We have some extra beer, some extra liquor on hand ready to go just in case," said Duffy's General Manager, Zach Balllou.
Kelly Green plans on watching the Super bowl at Duffy's, where he says he can also get enough drinks to last the game. "You can't have one without the other, you know? Football means beer," Green said.
Green says he watches how much he drinks. But, Ballou knows some customers won't. He says the Super bowl may be profitable, but stressful for bartenders.
"If something goes wrong it could be awful for us. You know, you lose your liquor license in a restaurant, that's 50% of your whole sales."
For those who may have a few too many drinks during the game, AAA is stepping in to make sure they and their cars return home safely.
For the 16th year, AAA's Tow to Go program will take two people home along with one vehicle for free within a 10-mile radius. It's a confidential service that anyone can use. You don't have to be a AAA member.
"You can't beat it. It means that everyone is going to be safe."
Green says he won't need the ride, but knows a few friends who might. "I won't call them out, but I'll make sure I send them a text to let them know that [Tow to Go] is out there for them."
All to keep the contact in the game, not on the roadways.
The service is available in TN, FL, and GA by calling (855) 2-TOW-2-GO or (855) 286-9246
