17-year-old wounded in West Palm Beach drive-by shooting

WEST PALM BEACH — A teenage boy was wounded in a drive-by shooting Saturday night on the city's north side.

The 17-year-old, whose name wasn't immediately made public, was walking near 34th Street and Westview Avenue about 8:30 p.m. when he was shot eight times in the lower leg, arm and buttocks, according to city spokesman Allan Ortman.

He was taken to St. Mary's Medical Center, where he's expected to recover, Ortman said.

Additional information, including a description of the car driven by the attackers, wasn't immediately available.
