John Goodman's attorneys file to remove him from house arrest, hearing scheduled Friday

Attorneys confirm paperwork filed Tuesday

WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. - John Goodman could learn Friday if he gets off house arrest.

Paperwork filed Tuesday in the Palm Beach County Courthouse requested that house arrest be removed for the polo mogul. His attorneys also filed paperwork to have Goodman's ankle bracelet removed.

A hearing on the requests will take place at 8:20 a.m. on Friday, May 17, regarding the defense's motion to reinstate pretrial release conditions.

Goodman was convicted of DUI manslaughter but appealed and won the right to a new trial in light of juror misconduct revealed last month.

He was previously convicted in the drunk driving crash of Scott Wilson in February 2010.

Goodman, according to his attorneys, is currently allowed outside his home one hour a day for exercise.

He is also currently restricted from flying.
