John Goodman, Wellington polo mogul, DUI manslaughter trial set to March 6

WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. -- International Polo Grounds founder John Goodman now knows when he'll go to trial.

Goodman is charged with DUI manslaughter in connection to a 2010 car crash.

Friday morning, a Palm Beach County judge scheduled Goodman's trial to start on March 6.

The judge did not rule on Goodman's defense teams request to move the trial to another county, possibly Miami-Dade.

A hearing will happen at a later date for that request.

Investigators say Goodman was drunk when his car crashed into 23-year-old Scott Wilson's car in February 2010 in Wellington.

Wilson's family and their attorneys were at Friday's hearing.

After the hearing, NewsChannel 5 asked if Lila Wilson, Scott's mother, wanted to comment on the trial date being set.

Wilson said, "I do, but I'm going to stay quiet today, thank you."

One of the lawyers representing Wilson's family, Scott Smith, said, "We're prepared for the civil trial to start March 27. Thank you."
