Four men arrested for stealing landscaper's truck in Wellington neighborhood

WELLINGTON, Fla. - The Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office arrested four men Saturday after officials say they stole a truck in Wellington.

It happened near Pleasant Wood Drive. Neighbors in the area say the stolen truck belonged to their neighborhood landscapers.

"Hardworking guys. They come back and I'm sure it must be pretty disheartening to have your vehicle stolen," said nearby resident, Chris Baker.

The sheriff's office says authorities received a call from a homeowner off Pleasant Wood Drive at 11:16 A.M, stating a black male just stole a Ford truck. Deputies located the suspect driving the stolen truck on South Shore and Forest Hill Blvd.

The sheriff's office says deputies followed the vehicle to Lake Worth Road and 441 where officials say the suspect bailed out of the vehicle. Deputies took him into custody.

Deputies say they then learned that a gold van was following the suspect, and was also a part of the vehicle burglary. Deputies then followed that van to Boynton Beach Blvd. and Hagen Ranch Rd, where the sheriff's office says three suspects bailed out into the Target Plaza. All three were arrested.

Target shopper, Sue Grossman, walked outside the store to see the scene.

"I saw blue lights all over the place and I said something big must have happened here," Grossman said.

She saw the suspects waiting in handcuffs. "Another win-win situation, the good guys got the bad guys," Grossman said.

Detectives are investigating the suspects for stealing Ford 150, 250 and 350 trucks as well as breaking into lawn service trailers.
