Child nearly drowns at Wellington Community Center

WELLINGTON - According to Captain Albert Borroto of Palm Beach Fire Rescue, at 5:36 pm crews responded to reports of a child drowning at the Wellington Community Center on the 12150 block of Forest Hill Boulevard.

Borroto said 911 callers stated the six to ten year-old child had been pulled from the pool and was being treated by the lifeguards. 

By the time the first rescue personnel arrived, the child was conscious and alert and was transported to Palms West for treatment.
