The Palm Beach County School District is encouraging parents and students to sit down, grab a book, and read together.

The school district hosted a free book fair Tuesday morning where Palm Beach County Superintendent of Schools Robert Avossa sat down to read with a few second graders.

The Children's Services Council of Palm Beach County teams up with the school district every year to give each student one free book.

So far they have donated more than 500,000 books together.

They want kids to start building their very own libraries at home.
