PALM BEACH COUNTY, Fla. - Hundreds of police officers from around the county and state ran behind the Special Olympics torch down Hypoluxo Road Wednesday morning.
"Whether you can run or drive a vehicle, just to get out there and spread the awareness is what it is all about," Capt. Sarah Mooney with West Palm Beach police said.
Mooney helped organize the run.
"This is the sort of thing that really gives all of us a boost," Mooney said.
Participants say this is the perfect warm up event for the Summer Special Olympics.
"I love it! I do tennis, swimming, golf, bowling and surfing," Brad Davis said.
All the money raised goes toward the Special Olympics.
