Sarah Boynton has a harrowing tale to tell about her trip on the water at the Arthur R. Marshall Loxahatchee National Wildlife Refuge.
PALM BEACH COUNTY, Fla. - Sarah Boynton has a harrowing tale to tell.
She was in an inflatable kayak at the Arthur R. Marshall Loxahatchee National Wildlife Refuge last weekend when a gator chomped down on it.
The scary 911 call was just released:
911 Operator: Ma'am he didn't get you?
Sarah: No, he didn't get me but I'm stuck and there's two very large alligators out here and I can't kayak... I'm sinking"
She told the dispatcher she was alone and you could hear the fear in her voice on the 911 call.
Sarah: And I pulled myself up on top of grass, but as I said, there's two really big alligators in here and I'm just sitting here now."
Rescue crews used an airboat to reach her and bring her to safety.
She was not injured.
