PALM BEACH COUNTY, Fla. - Sammy Uribe and his daughter were walking home along Jog Road in West Palm Beach last November when he says robbers approached.
"You can't forget it. He said, 'I'm going to blow your back out and this little (expletive) can get it too.' And he put the gun to me and my daughter's back," Uribe said.
He says the nightmare still haunts him.
"I can't believe that animal put a shotgun to my daughter's back," Uribe said.
Even the little girl remembers what happened.
"I saw a monster," she said.
Investigators say the suspects took Uribe's phone and groceries and took off.
Months went by, but police hadn't made arrests.
Fast forward to February -- Uribe says he was driving down Haverhill Road when he spotted one of the suspects.
He took a picture of the car and followed it to a nearby apartment complex.
"No man would ever forget the faces or body of anybody who put a gun to his daughter's back. That is something that sticks with you forever," Uribe said.
West Palm Beach police used the pictures to track down the accused robber Byron Gary.
Uribe and his daughter were in court when a judge denied Gary bond.
"I said, 'hey Byron, I promise you I will be at every single court appearance.' And he just looked down and didn't look me in the eye," Gary said.
Police are still looking for another suspect. If you have any information, call Palm Beach County Crime Stoppers at 1-800-458-TIPS.
