ROYAL PALM BEACH, Fla-- Neighbors in one Royal Palm Beach community had a huge wake up call early this morning.

Neighbors say at least three cars in the Saratoga Lakes subdivision were broken into early this morning.

David Cruz found his car early this morning with the window shot out, and Palm Beach County Sheriff's deputies knocking on his door.

"It's going to be rough sleeping the next few nights," said Cruz. "Hopefully this is a one time thing. Hopefully, this will help keep the guard up for everyone and pay attention to what's going on."

Multiple neighbors say they heard the shots. Another neighbor a few doors down said he woke to find his car door open and some of his belongings moved around.

Neighbors say of this a huge eye opener to lock your cars and remove your valuables, at any time, but especially this time of year.

"It's definitely something I'll be talking to my wife about," said John Stipek, another neighbor.

His car was not broken into, but he says it does raise awareness.
"It's something to be concerned about. Obviously, be sure you're locking your car. I do double check mine, too. I might not have been one of the ones hit, but it is something to be aware of," said Stipek.

Some of the items taken include some change, credit cards, and a laptop.
