Arrest in assault of assistant principal at Royal Palm High School

An arrest has been made in the assault of a Royal Palm Beach High School assistant principal, according to the Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office.

Lisa Jones was patrolling outside on a golf cart Thursday morning when she saw a group of students fighting and went to break it up.

She was stabbed on the wrist and admitted to a hospital. She has since been released.

The sheriff's office now says a student was also treated on the scene for lacerations.
The sheriff's office said a 17-year-old, who does not attend the school, turned himself in to detectives.

The teen faces two counts of aggravated battery and one count of aggravated assault.

The sheriff's office says the juvenile will be booked into the Juvenile Assessment Center.
