Worldwide Groceries: Riviera Beach grocery store destroyed by fire

RIVIERA BEACH, Fla. - Officials with the State Fire Marshal's office returned Friday morning to the site of a fire that destroyed Worldwide Groceries in Riviera Beach.

They say heavy equipment is coming in from Fort Lauderdale to help with the investigation.

The fire in the 3300 block of Old Dixie Highway, which started around 9 p.m. Thursday, caused a section of the road to be closed while firefighters worked to extinguish the blaze.

No one was injured in the fire, according to Riviera Beach spokeswoman Rose Anne Brown.

Brown said the building that housed Worldwide Groceries was a total loss.

At this time, investigators say it's too soon to tell if the fire was a case of arson.
