RIVIERA BEACH, Fla. - An 18-year-old suspected in a Monday morning shooting with Riviera Beach police was in court Wednesday but has not been charged in the incident.
However, the suspect, Tavis D. Wilson was charged in a Saturday robbery at a Riviera Beach car wash.
Investigators said charges into the shootout, which resulted in a massive hunt and closed roads, are coming soon.
Wilson's attorney says his client turned himself in Tuesday night because of immense pressure from area law enforcement but maintains that his client was not involved in the shootout.
"He is a young man that honestly is scared as this particular moment, as you would expect with all the attention and his name being involved. He steadfastly denies being involved in this shooting,” said attorney Scott Skier.
Prosecutors said Wilson has a lengthy criminal record as a juvenile.
Wilson's bond set at $200,000. He will have to appear before a judge again when police file the new charges.
