Riviera Beach volunteers planting flags for armed services day

RIVIERA BEACH, Fla. - Thousands of flags are being planted outside of Riviera Beach City Hall in honor of National Armed Forces day.

The day pays tribute to the members of the five branches of the United States Military.

These include the U.S. Army, U.S. Navy. U.S. Coast Guard, U.S. Marine Corps and U.S. Air Force.

Riviera Beach Councilwoman Judy Davis is helping lead the charge of a group of volunteers who will plant 2,700 flags on the lawn outside of city hall.

Congressman Patrick Murphy is expected to be at the event today.

It gets started at 9 a.m. and continues until 1 p.m., Davis said.
