RIVIERA BEACH, Fla. - At 105 years of age, Cleve Dixon has been around longer than the town he calls home, Riviera Beach.
Cleve's holding up pretty well considering he's been around since 1906.
"105 years ago, just imagine. No cell phone. No computer. Probably no phone. Electricity, all the things that we have today, they didn't have it," said Riviera Beach Mayor, Thomas Masters.
Three generations of family turned out to congratulate Cleve on his 105th birthday, sharing memories of long ago, and wishing him many more healthy and happy birthdays in the future.
"He always took us to the swap shop on Saturday to find us a little piece. He gave everybody a two dollars...we thought it was like 200 dollars, but two dollars was a lot to us then. We always say that we love our father, and we always love him best," said Jacqueline Kindred, one of Cleve's daughters.
"It's just an honor to have that name. Nathaniel Cleveland...it's a true honor. It's a true honor to be named after the greatest men in history," said his great grandson Nathaniel Cleveland Dixon.
With a twinkle in his eye, and a smile in his heart, Cleve made his birthday wish. "I wish I could jump up and shout."
Friends and relatives are wishing Cleve many more healthy and happy birthdays.
