PBC Health Department lifts the "No Swimming Advisory" for Phil Foster Park

RIVIERA BEACH, Fla. - The Palm Beach County Health Department has discontinued the "No Swimming Advisory" for Phil Foster Park, following test results that place the beach water around the park in the good range, according to a press release.

Health officials take weekly samples of beach water in 14 locations from Boca Raton to Jupiter. The samples are sent to a laboratory to test for concentrations of enterococci and fecal coliform, and results are assigned a value that corresponds to recommended limits set by the Florida Department of Environmental Protection and the EPA .The quality of the water is assigned a value of poor, moderate or good.

Phil Foster's results for enterococcus were at 12 parts per 100 milliliters of marine water, which placed it in the "good" range, according to the release.

The next routine weekly sample will be taken on Monday, July 25, 2011
