Flooding in Palm Beach County

Heavy rain has caused numerous problems in Palm Beach County.

At Christa McAuliffe Middle School, all of the portables were evacuated. Children were moved into the main building.

At Park Vista High School, afternoon activities have been canceled. Parents are asked to pick up students at the back of the school.

At the intersection of Blue Heron and Old Dixie Highway in Riviera Beach, deep rain puddles have accumulated and traffic is slow.

At 13th Street - between Australian Avenue and Dixie Highway- it's hard to tell the difference between sidewalks and streets.

The tire of a parked semi was nearly submerged at one spot.

Flooding is also reported in suburban Boynton Beach. At least one vehicle became stuck due to high water.

The National Weather Service has issued a flash flood warning for east central Palm Beach County until 5:30 p.m.

As of 12:35 p.m. 2400 power outages were reported in Riviera Beach by Florida Power and Light.

Two airline passengers reported their plane were diverted to Fort Lauderdale to land due to the weather in West Palm Beach.
