Dog missing when SUV stolen has been recovered

RIVIERA BEACH, Fla. – A dog that was inside an SUV when it was stolen has been recovered.

Sahara, who recently underwent surgery and couldn't walk, was in a Black Chevrolet Tahoe while it was parked on the 300 block of West 11 Street in Riviera Beach when the vehicle was taken.

Police say a person recognized the dog from news coverage and called Riviera Beach police.

Sahara was recovered from a vacant lot in the 3100 block of Avenue J and appears to be in good condition, according to police.

The Tahoe, with Florida tag T176HT, is still missing.
