RIVIERA BEACH, Fla. -- Riviera Beach police have charged a mother who was reported missing along with her four children.
Police say Candice Sabonia Jackson and her children, who range in age from six months to four years-old, disappeared Sunday morning January 5.
Monday a concerned family member contacted an investigator with the Florida Department of Children and Families.
Police were called and got in touch with a boyfriend of Jackson. Detectives say he said he last saw Jackson Sunday morning around 7 a.m. when they rode with him to where he worked in Wellington.
After police released pictures of Jackson and the children, and they were shown on TV and news websites, someone noticed her in the 300 block of Old Dixie Highway in Riviera Beach and contacted police. Officers made a traffic stop and pulled her over.
Police say the children were in soaked diapers, had not been fed, and two were not wearing shirts. Police say Jackson admitted she kept the children in a car all night long.
Officers took the kids to the station and ordered Happy Meals for them.
Police say they found cocaine in Jackson's car and plan on charging her.
The Department of Children and Families now has custody of the children.
